Guide
The Broken Highland Mustang mount has a chance of dropping from the rare Knight-Captain Aldrin in the BFA phasing of Arathi Highlands. The mount is on roughly a 5% drop rate.
To access the correct Arathi Highlands phasing you need to be at least level 50+.
You can find Knight-Captain Aldrin in Dabyrie’s Farmstead but only when Horde have control of Arathi Highlands.
The rare resets once per cycle when Arathi goes from Patrolling to Patrolling (explained in more detail below).
Arathi Rares and Warfront System explained
Arathi Highlands rares work differently from the normal ones, they don’t reset daily or weekly but instead reset based on the Warfront system that was introduced in BFA. You can find the Warfront table within the Port of Zandalar for Horde or Boralus docks for Alliance.
This will tell you the current status of Arathi Highlands. It has 3 phases Patrol, Contribute and Siege.
Patrol:
- You have access to world bosses and world quests in the warfront zone, with a portal to the zone from your faction hub
- You cannot contribute profession items, gold, and War Resources via quests in your faction hub
- You cannot queue for the instanced warfront via the war table
Contribute:
- You do not have access to zone specific world bosses, world quests, or a portal to the warfront zone
- You can contribute profession items, gold, and War Resources via quests in your faction hub to help your faction build up enough strength to attack
- You cannot queue for the instanced warfront via the war table
Siege:
- You do not have access to zone specific world bosses, world quests, or a portal to the warfront zone
- You cannot contribute profession items, gold, and War Resources via quests in your faction hub
- You can queue for the instanced warfront from the war table in your faction hub
So if you kill a rare within Arathi Highlands during Patrol, Contrubute or Siege. You’ll need to wait for your faction to regain control of Arathi Highlands once more which is when it cycles to the Patrol state again. For example you kill X rare during the Contribute state, you’ll need to wait for it to cycle through Contribute and Siege and then return to Patrol once again before you can kill the rare again for loot.
Depending on who is in control of Arathi Highlands will also change the available rares and their locations. If your faction is in control, you will also find a helpful portal near your Warfront table that will take you to Arathi Highlands.
