Guide
The Invincible’s Reins has roughly a 1% drop rate from The Lich King, the final boss of the Icecrown Citadel (ICC) on a 25 man Heroic difficulty.
The entrance to the ICC is located in Icecrown. Ensure you are on Heroic 25man before entering by right clicking on your Character Portrait and changing it under Raid Difficulty.
By far the most efficient way of farming this mount is done through a lockout sharing. If you prefer farming the entire raid normally, skip to step 2.
1) Choose one specific character to be a lockout sharer. Set their raid difficulty 25 man Normal. Once the raid is cleared up until the The Lich King, this character leaves the raid and never kills him. Instead, use this character to share the lockout every week with your alts or friends. This way you are able to enter the raid and port straight to the frozen throne on your alts.
After this, your weekly farming routine looks like this:
1.1) Position your farming toon in front of the ICC;
1.2) Log over to your lockout sharer;
1.3) Make sure your lockout is active (type ‘/raidinfo’ in chat, find your ICC lockout and extend it if it’s your first time after the weekly reset);
1.4) Create a group on your lockout sharer and log over to the farming toon;
1.5) Apply to the group and log back over to the sharer;
1.6) Invite your farming character to the group and log over again;
1.7) Accept the invitation on your farming toon and enter the raid after the party lead is passed to the farming character (make sure you are still entering a 25 man Normal mode raid!);
Note: if your computer is too slow to execute this process, try disabling add-ons and lowering graphics.
1.8) Once you are in the raid, accept the 11/12 (or 10/12) lockout, change the difficulty from Normal to Heroic and accept the lockout again;
1.9) Walk up to the teleporter in front of you, port to the ‘Upper Spire’, head straight to be taken to the throzen throne and kill The Lich King;
1.10) Reset all instances on your lockout sharer and repeat for all your alts.
2) To clear the raid normally you have to follow a pretty straightforward route.
After entering, move forward and kill two first bosses.
3) Take the elevator and move either right or left, depending on your faction. You might have to clear trash in your way there, but it is not mandatory.
Board the ship and talk to an npc to start your ascend.
Man the cannon and shoot the opposing ship a bit. (If your cannons get frozen while the enemy ship still has HP left, you will have to board the enemy ship and clear mobs there. If your class can’t leap over the gap, talk to a nearby goblin/gnome who will give you a free shirt with a rocket jump function.)
4) After the gunship battle, talk to the same npc to initiate the next boss fight. Ruthlessly destroy Saurfang’s only child and head into the Citadel again.
5) Inside, clear the bosses in the following order.
Within the western wing, kill two abominations first, and open the vents in their rooms (marked on the map, the vents are found near the entrance to each abomination’s room). Head to the professor and kill him after a small bug ambush.
6) In the northern wing, kill the council, move to the second floor, kill the vampire queen and fall back down through the opening in the floor where her guards stood.
7) Lastly, move to the eastern wing, clear the trash, optionally skip Valithria (this is a healing boss) and take an elevator down.
8) Head straight, survive a spider ambush and kill the trash in the boss room as well as Sindragosa.
9) Find an elevator or a scourge teleporter in her room and return to the upper spire. You can now walk straight to the very middle of it to be taken to the Frozen Throne.
10) At last, you are able to talk to Tirion and fight the Lich King after a minute of RP.
Extra Tips: Since you can only clear the raid once per week per character, run the raid on your alts to have more than one chance per week.
