Guide
The Mechacycle Model W mount is obtained by completing the Mechagon meta achievement, Mecha-Done. This achievement is comprised of 10 smaller achievements for doing various things around Mechagon. There is not really an accurate time estimate I can give on how long it’ll take to complete this meta as it is very luck dependent. For me personally, it took about a month and a week of visting Mechagon daily to complete everything but it may take more or less time for you. In this guide, I will go over each achievement one by one below. But first, let’s go over how to unlock Mechagon.
How to unlock Mechagon
If you’ve never done Battle for Azeroth content before, head to your main city of Stormwind or Orgrimmar.
Alliance
You’ll want to head to your board located in the Trade District at the coordinates 63 71.6. Speak to the Hero’s Herald next to the command board and you should be able to pick up the quest Battle for Azeroth: Tides of War.
Horde
Head to your command board located in the Valley of Strength at the coordinates 49.7 76.7. There should be an NPC next to it named Warchief’s Herald. You should be able to pick up the quest Battle for Azeroth: Mission Statement from them.
Follow the questline you’ve been given until you’ve made it to the part in Boralus/Dazar’alor where you can pick a zone to start questing in from a map. You will be able to do that when you’ve completed the BFA introduction and have the achievement Come Sail Away (Alliance) or Welcome to Zandalar (Horde). You should now be able to see either Tinkmaster Overspark or Gazlowe in your BFA capital city that will give you a breadcrumb quest to get to Mechagon. The quest is called The Legend of Mechagon for both factions.
NOTE: If you’re a newer player and don’t see this quest, you may have to unlock your Heart of Azeroth which starts with the quest A Dying World which is given by the NPC Earthen Guardian in either Boralus/Dazar’alor.
If you still don’t see the Mechagon quest, you’ll probably have to complete the Nazjatar introduction first. You should look for the quest The Wolf’s Offensive OR Send The Fleet given by Genn Greymane on the Alliance ship in Boralus if you’re Alliance. For Horde, you should look for the quest The Warchief’s Orders OR Send The Fleet given by Nathanos on the Horde ship in the Port of Zuldazar. Following this questline will take you to Nazjatar which will eventually also lead to Mechagon.
How to get to Mechagon
Assuming you’ve already unlocked Mechagon, these are the ways you can get back to the island at any time!
Alliance
The easiest way to get to Mechagon as an Alliance player is to fly from Boralus to Drustvar. Once at the northern tip of Drustvar, you can continue flying northwest to get to Mechagon.
Horde
You’ll want to head down to the docks of Dazar’alor. In the left corner of the map above the words Grand Bazaar, you should be able to find Captain Krooz with her submarine. Speaking to her will give you an option to teleport straight to Mechagon.
Now, on to all the achievements!
The Mechagonian Threat
This achievement is very straightforward. It requires you to complete the main campaign questline in Mechagon. This will start with the quest “The Legend of Mechagon” given by Gazlowe or Tinkmaster Overspark as mentioned in the “how to unlock Mechagon” section. The campaign has under 20 quests in total so it shouldn’t take too long! Additionally, the very last quest usually requires you to do the Operation Mechagon dungeon. You can skip this requirement by speaking to Prince Erazmin again after picking up the quest and choosing the skip dialogue.
If you ever get lost on which quest you should be doing next, I would strongly recommend downloading the addon BTWQuests with the Battle for Azeroth module. This addon is very helpful because it shows you the order you need to do quests in as well as providing coordinates. You can also look at Wowhead as they have storylines listed too!
Outside Influences
This achievement requires you to complete every single possible daily quest in Mechagon. There are 32 in total. Every day, there will be three visitors in Mechagon that have quests available. Their order is completely random. You can see which are up without even visting Mechagon by checking the front page of Wowhead under the BFA section.
The only note I have is that Clues Abound from Elise Starseeker is a bit of an outlier in that it actually leads to seven of the total quests you must complete for the Outside Influences achievement and most can be easily missed. It will take you at least three visits from Elise Starseeker to be able to complete all seven aforementioned quests.
For your first Clues Abound, you can find an Old Parchment from a Waterlogged Scroll Case. These are generally found in the Outflow section of the map. This will also lead to the A Historical Mess quest.
For your second Clues Abound, find an Ancient Runestone. They are found within Dirt Piles around the Outflow section of the map. Finding one will lead to the quest A Growing Mystery. DO NOT COMPLETE A GROWING MYSTERY YET OR YOU CAN’T DO THE NEXT TWO PARTS. Before you complete and turn in that quest, kill Toxic Lurker and Congealed Oil mobs around the Outflow. Toxic Lurkers can drop the Night Elf Ring item that leads to the Strange Discovery quest. Congealed Oils can drop the Old Pirate Hat. The Hat will allow you to complete the quest Pirates? I Hate Those Guys. After you’ve completed these two quests, you can then turn in A Growing Mystery.
For your third Clues Abound, find a Hearthstone Card, once again in the Outflow. A suggested location to look is at the coords 77, 64. Once you’ve gotten the Card, it will lead to the quest Time for Heroics. You can then pick up the last quest you need from one of the people you rescued, Adalin Halfheight, called Deck ‘Em! You should now have all seven of the Clues Abound related quests complete!
Junkyard Apprentice
This achievement requires you to craft 250 items via Junkyard Tinkering with Pascal-K1N6. Pascal-K1N6 is unlocked by completing the quest Drill Rig Construction in the main Mechagon storyline. Crates such as the S.P.A.R.E Crate do not count. I would not worry about this achievement until the very end as you naturally will be crafting things to progress in Mechagon.
Once you’re at that point, I would recommend crafting any of the following: Scrap Grenade, Protocol Transference Device, Orange Spraybot, Green Spraybot or Blue Spraybot. All of the listed items cost 50 Spare Parts to make each. If you have extra charged Energy Cells, then you can also craft the Emergency Power Pack for 5 Energy Cells per.
If you need to grind Spare Parts for this achievement, I would recommend farming in the Junkwatt Depot as you will both earn Spare Parts from the mobs and also work towards making Bundles of Recyclable Parts mentioned below. Another good farming method is doing the Operation: Mechagon dungeon on Heroic. The most effective way would be doing big trash pulls in Bondo’s Yard, the Scrapbone Den and in front of Junkwatt Depot then killing any stray mobs while you head back to Rustbolt. You can then exit the dungeon and reset the instance so the trash will be back up!
Alternatively, there is a method that costs gold but may be worth the time saved. This involves completing the quest More Recycling by turning in Bundle of Recyclable Parts to any of the four Recyclerizer DX-82 located in the Junkwatt Depot. It is an infinitely repeatable quest. You can buy the materials required to make Bundles of Recyclable Parts off the auction house. They require 30x Hardened Spring, 5x Machined Gear Assembly and 10x Tempered Plating each to make. When you turn in a Bundle, you will receive a guaranteed Recycling Requisition box that can contain between 1 and 220 Spare Parts. This technique would save you any grinding you’d have to do.
Available in Eight Colors
Despite its name, this achievement requires you to collect seven possible paint colorations you can apply to your X-995 Mechanocat mount. The eighth color, Battletorn Blue, is awarded upon completion of the achievement. First, let’s start with how to obtain the mount.
How to get the mount
You’ll first need to buy the Blueprint: Mechanocat Laser Pointer from Cork Stuttgard, located in eastern Bondo’s Yard. He may not be available to you until you’ve completed some of the Mechagon quests.
You will then need to acquire 2,000 Spare Parts, 5 Energy Cells and 4 Chain Ignitercoil. Spare Parts farm method is mentioned in the Junkyard Apprentice section. As for Energy Cells, you can get empty versions of these from completing quests, looting treasures or drops from rares among other things. You’ll need to charge them at the Charging Station located in Bondo’s Yard, which is not available every day. Chain Ignitercoils can be crafted via Junkyard Tinkering or you can possibly loot them from treasures or rares.
Once you’ve gotten the required materials, you can craft the X-995 Mechanocat at Pascal-K1N6.
Once learned, you can change the coloration of your mount at any time by speaking to Marvelous Martini, who is near Cork Stuttgard in Bondo’s Yard.
How to get all 8 colors
Most of the colors are dropped from rares. Most rares will be gone over in more detail in the “Rest In Pistons” section of this guide, so I will not be very elaborate here. All of the paint colors also have low drop rates of 13% or less.

Junkyard Architect
To complete this achievement, you will need to loot and turn in 37 different Blueprints to Pascal-K1N6. While most of this achievement is account wide, this is one character only. I would also recommend starting this achievement as soon as possible as it is one of the longest. The Blueprints come from a variety of locations such as being dropped from rares, awarded from quests and purchased from vendors. To begin collecting blueprints, you will need to complete the main campaign for Mechagon so you unlock Pascal-K1N6, whom you turn these blueprints in to.
Any rares that require more effort than simply killing them are mentioned in more detail under the Rest in Pistons section of this guide, as well as coords for most of the rares.

Protocol Transference Device | Mechagonian Nullifier (rare) | ~14% drop chance. Summoning requires the trinket Pocket-Sized Computation Device with the Remote Circuit Bypasser in the blue punchcard slot. Equip it and can interact with Hackable Nullifier Relay at coords 57 52. |
Battle Box | Stolen Royal Vendorbot (vendor) | Can be purchased at Exalted with the Rustbolt Resistance for 1024 gold. |
Rustbolt Requisitions | Irradiated Box of Assorted Parts (box) | ~11% drop chance. Box comes from the “hardmode” version of the Reclamation Rig event. Boxes are awarded from completing the Reclamation Rig event, former on normal mode and the latter on hard mode. OR from infinitely repeatable quest in Junkwatt Depot called More Recycling. |
Making the Mount
This achievement requires you to complete a questline to craft the mount Scrapforged Mechaspider. The first quest in the chain, Shop Project, is offered by Recycler Kerchunk in southern Rustbolt after you have completed the quest Welcome to the Resistance in the main Mechagon storyline.
Once you’ve completed the first quest, there will be 11 more quests to complete, ending with Drive It Away Today. These quests were originally once daily however in Dragonflight, I was able to complete the first seven in a single day.
If you’d like a more in depth walkthrough of this questline, please visit our Scrapforged Mechaspider article here on the site via clicking the link!
Rest in Pistons
The completion of this achievement requires you to defeat all 36 special encounters/rares around the island of Mechagon. Most of these rares are straightforward but there are some that have quirks, such as ones that are only available during certain construction projects or daily quests. Below is a map and coordinates for all rares except those that have multiple spawn locations as they would add a lot of clutter. If a rare has a red star next to it, it has a quirk that I’ve touched on below. I’ve also gone over multiple spawn point rares. If you do not see a rare mentioned, assume it functions as normal rares do.
It may be worth it to download an addon such as RareScanner or SilverDragon as they will give you a popup and audio notification whenever you’re close to a rare. You can also customize them if neither of those options sound particularly good to you. These addons can be especially helpful for rares with multiple spawn points!
TomTom coordinates for all single spawn point rares
I would strongly advise downloading the Paste addon so you can add all of the waypoints to your map at once.

Multiple spawn points
Enforcer KX-T57 only spawns when it is raining in the Junkwatt Depot section of the map. To get it to rain, you will need to first loot the Exothermic Evaporator Coil. This item has a drop chance from any mob in the Junkwatt Depot but the highest drop chance seems to come from the rare Mr. Fixthis. Once you’ve gotten the needed item, head to the Weather Altercation Machine at the coords /way 61.03 61.45. Now just spam kill mobs in the Depot area until this rare spawns– it shouldn’t take too long! He seems to be able to just spawn on his own as well. Lastly, he can spawn in multiple locations around the Junkwatt Depot.
Fungarian Furor can only be spawned when the daily quest Aid From Nordrassil is active. Pick up the quest and instead of doing it, click little white mushrooms that are at the bottom of trees in the Fleeting Forest area. It is not a rare spawn chance of each mushroom but instead, there is a specific mushroom that will trigger it. If you happen to have an addon that shows you the ID of each object you mouseover (such as idTip), you can see the IDs of the mushrooms and the correct one will have the ID 135497. You do not NEED the addon to get this to spawn, it will just save you some time!
Gear Checker Cogstar is probably the biggest pain on this list. He has a seemingly very low chance to spawn anywhere you can find a Sentry mob, such as the Upgraded Sentry or Anodized Sentry. You will need to spam kill these mobs to get him to show up. I will provide a map below on most of their locations.
Whenever he is about to spawn, the slain Sentry will say something like “Bzzt… Unit defeated… request immediate support… Szzt” and he will spawn in shortly after at that location. HOWEVER, not all Sentries saying this upon their death will cause him to spawn. I have killed multiple, had them say this message and then had nothing spawn. If you’ve been farming Sentries for more than an hour with no Cogstar spawn, I would personally suggest trying again the next day, for your sanity if nothing else. It is not confirmed but I have a suspicion that he simply will not spawn some days after I have spent 3+ hours farming the mobs multiple times to no avail.
Killsaw spawns in multiple locations around the Fleeting Forest part of the map on the western side of the island. If you don’t see it up, Killsaw has a chance to spawn when you kill the Sawblade Clearcutter mobs in the area. It DOES NOT spawn when the Venture Company is in the area, such as when the daily quest Taking The Air Out is up.
Oxidized Leachbeast is similar to the Enforcer KX-T57 rare in that you will also have to use the Exothermic Evaporator Coil on the Weather Altercation Machine to cause it to rain in the Junkwatt Depot. However, the extra step is that you will have to specifically spam kill small Oxidized Leachate mobs to get it to spawn. It can spawn in multiple locations around the Junkwatt Depot.
Rares with quirks
Armored Vaultbot will spawn at the given coords and then slowly make its way down the path toward Bondo’s Yard. To loot it, you will need to kite it to a large magnet in Bondo’s Yard at the coordinates 63.2 38.8. Kiting means that you get aggro of the mob and then make it follow you to where you want it to go. You’ll have to keep hitting Vaultbot as well as staying close to it while kiting or it may return back to its spawn point. You can also use the Armored Vaultbot Key to open the Vaultbot without having to kite it, but make sure not to accidentally damage it while you’re trying to use the Key. You can possibly get the blueprint for the Key by looting Vaultbot.
Boggac Skullbash only spawns after many Troggs in the Scrapbone Den area of the map are killed. There is no known estimated number of kills to get him to spawn. I’ve had this rare spawn anywhere between 25-90 minutes of nonstop killing Troggs. You will know when he spawns as he will yell “You kill no Boggac friends!” in zonewide chat. I’ve added an example farming route below but do whatever works best for you!
Boilburn requires the Drill Rig construction project to be active. The drill associated with this rare is DR-JD41. It shares a ~15 minute spawn timer with the other DR-JD drill rare, Gemicide.
Caustic Mechaslime can only spawn when the Drill Rig construction project is active. The corresponding drill for this rare is DR-CC73. It shares a spawn timer with The Kleptoboss and Gorged Gear-Cruncher. It is about 30 min to 1 hour long. They all spawn in the same underground area called the Crumbling Cavern but have different entrances. After the drill clears the rocks and opens the tunnel, a timer starts with 5mins until rocks collapse, rare must be killed within this time. If not killed in time, everyone inside will get teleported out and the tunnel will close, causing the rare to despawn.
Crazed Trogg will not be attackable until you cover yourself in the correct color. He will say the color at times and it will also be visible on the paint cans that he is hitting.
Once you’ve figured out which color it is, head to the coords /way 63.4 41.7 in Bondo’s Yard, right near where you can change your X-995 Mechanocat’s coloration. You will see three paint splatters on the ground. Stand on the color Crazed Trogg was calling out and you will get a buff that paints you that color for 3 minutes. In my case, this was Painted Green.
Now head back to the Crazed Trogg’s cave and he should attack you as soon as you come close enough!
Deepwater Maw is summoned by first completing a short fishing quest chain given by Danielle Anglers. I will show her location on the map below! Once completed, you will get the item Hundred-Fathom Lure that you use in a specific location near Danielle to spawn the rare. If you ever want to spawn the rare another time, you will have to craft the Lure first at the junkyard tinkering place.
Earthbreaker Gulroc is another rare that is only available when the Drill Rig construction project is active. The drill for this rare is DR-TR35. It shares a ~15 minute spawn timer with Ol’ Big Tusk.
Foul Manifestation requires you to first use the Circuit Breaker device at the coords 67.56 55.53. Once you’ve clicked it, you will need to connect 3 wires to their associated pylons near where the rare spawns. For example, the Beta wire connects to the Beta pylon. You have 20 seconds to connect them before it’ll become inactive and you’ll have to start the same one over again. The wires will take a couple seconds then the Foul Manifestation will spawn!
Gemicide also requires the Drill Rig construction project to be active. The drill associated with this rare is DR-JD99. It shares a ~15 minute spawn timer with the other DR-JD drill rare, Boilburn.
Gorged Gear-Cruncher can only spawn when the Drill Rig construction project is active. The corresponding drill for this rare is DR-CC61. It shares a spawn timer with The Kleptoboss and Caustic Mechaslime.
Malfunctioning Beastbot requires a crafted Beastbot Powerpack to activate. You can find the blueprint for this lying on the ground in Bondo’s Yard. Once you use this item on the rare, it’ll become attackable.
Mechagonian Nullifier is activated by first crafting a Pocket-Sized Computation Device trinket at the tinkering crafting place. Secondly, you will need to kill The Scrap King rare until you loot the Remote Circuit Bypasser punchcard from him. You can slot this item into your trinket. Make sure to equip it and then you’ll be able to activate the Hackable Nullifier Relay located at the coords 59.93 52.07. The Mechagonian Nullifier will spawn after hacking the relay!
Ol’ Big Tusk is another rare that is only available when the Drill Rig construction project is active. The drill for this rare is DR-TR28. It shares a ~15 minute spawn timer with Earthbreaker Gulroc.
OOX-Avenger/MG is only available when Oglethorpe Obnoticus is in Rustbolt. He gives the quest My Chickens Are Not For Eating! First, you’ll have to find OOX-Fleetfoot/MG. It was marked with a silver dragon portrait and shown on my map but if this is not the case for you, I would suggest flying around the zone using a target macro such as /tar OOX-Fleetfoot/MG. This small mechanical chicken runs REALLY fast around the whole zone. You will have to use any slows, stuns and movement abilities you have to kill it. Once killed, it will cause the OOX-Avenger/MG to spawn.
Sparkqueen P’Emp only spawns when the daily quest Bugs, Lots of Em! is active. It spawns near Crazed Trogg on the hill and will then walk toward Rustbolt. If you don’t kill it by the time it reaches the NPC Razak Ironsides, he will oneshot it and you won’t get any credit for the kill.
The Doppel Gang requires you to complete the daily quest Cogfrenzy’s Construction Frenzy three times before you can summon them. Each completion will give you a Pressure Relief Valve. Once you have 3 Valves, you can head to the coords 80.95 20.17 at any time and click on the three Strained Exhaust Pipes. Doing so will cause The Doppel Gang to spawn!
The Kleptoboss can only spawn when the Drill Rig construction project is active. The corresponding drill for this rare is DR-CC88. It shares a spawn timer with Gorged Gear-Cruncher and Caustic Mechaslime.
The Rusty Prince is only available in the alternate timeline of Mechagon. To get to this place, you will need to speak to Chromie when the daily quest The Other Place is up. Another option is by crafting and using the item Personal Time Displacer. The blueprint for this item can be acquired from killing and looting mobs while in the alternate timeline.
Other notable rares
Arachnoid Harvester is often camped due to the fact it drops the mount Rusty Mechanocrawler. This means it may be highly contested, depending on how populated your server is, so you may not be able to just fly to the spawn and kill it whenever you’d like.
Rustfeather is another rare that is often camped as it drops the Junkheap Drifter mount.
Junkyard Machinist
To complete this achievement, you will need to contribute to 100 construction projects in Mechagon. You have to be in proximity when the project is completed for it to count. This achievement can be left until the last couple as you will be naturally contributing to projects in Mechagon while doing your other activities. Additionally, construction projects are not guaranteed to be up every day. You can check with Waren Gearhart at the coords 73.1 33.3 in Rustbolt to see which are available for that day.
I would personally suggest grinding this achievement with Broken Flame Turrets as they are the cheapest at 100 Spare Parts each. Other projects take more Spare Parts and even Energy Cells.
Flame Turrets are clustered in groups of 3, with only 1 being up at a time. There are 6 total spawn locations so you will be able to do roughly 6 per rotation. If you’re on a populated server, this may be harder to do. You may see unfriendly turrets from the opposite faction which you can kill to later place your own. If you see a friendly one, you will be able to check by looking at its debuffs how much longer it will be active for.
Coordinates for ALL Broken Flame Turret spawn locations
Note that only ONE out of the three per section will be active at a time.
/way 16.0 81.6 Flame Turret

Junkyard Melomaniac
To complete this, you will need to collect all six of the vinyls for the Rustbolt Gramophone. But first, you’ll have to unlock the Gramophone itsself. This is done by killing the rare Steel Singer Freza who has about a ~15% chance to drop Blueprint: Rustbolt Gramophone. Once you have it, you’ll need to turn it in and then build it at Pascal-K1N6. You will then get the quest Rustbolt Gramophone to install it at the bar The Tipsy Tinkerer. After you’ve done all this, you can then loot the rest of the vinyls. They all have low drop rates. Many of these require rares that will be better explained in the Rest in Pistons section. Data Anomaly will be further explained in the blueprints section.
Vinyl | Source | Notes |
Ode to Tinkertown | Installing the Gramophone | This vinyl comes with the Rustbolt Gramophone so you’ll get it after installing! |
Mimiron’s Brainstorm | Strange Recycling Requisition (box) / Recycling Requisition (box) / Steel Singer Freza (rare) | Both boxes can be either obtained from the Reclamation Drill event or from the infinitely repeatable quest Even More Recycling. |
Depths of Ulduar | Any of the following rares: Steel Singer Freza, Ol’ Big Tusk, Boilburn, Gemicide, Earthbreaker Gulroc & The Kleptoboss | Besides Freza, these rares all require the drill rig construction project to be active, as you use a drill rig to get into their respective caves. Drill rig spawns also appear to spawn in a random order. |
Gnomeregan Forever | Mechagonian Nullifer / Boggac Skullbash (rares) | Boggac Skullbash is spawned by killing A LOT of troggs in the Scrapbone Den. Summoning Mechagonian Nullifier requires the trinket Pocket-Sized Computation Device with the Remote Circuit Bypasser in the blue punchcard slot. You will then be able to see Hackable Nullifier Relay when it is equipped. |
Battle of Gnomeregan | Data Anomaly event / Steel Singer Freza (rare) | Requires daily quest Discs of Norgannon to be active to loot required items (Cracked Numeric Cylinder, Large Storage Fragment, Rust Covered Disc & Scorched Data Disc) to summon Data Anomaly bosses. Abandon quest after killing associated boss so you can keep the item and use it repeatedly daily. |
Triumph of Gnomeregan | Steel Singer Freza (rare) / Guaranteed drop from Irradiated Box of Assorted Parts | Irradiated Box of Assorted Parts comes from the “hardmode” version of the Reclamation Rig event. To activate hardmode, you have to use the Supercollider on all 20 of the Irradiated Elemental mobs that spawn from the event. The Supercollider requires ~4 completions of Toys For Destruction daily quest and can be picked up from the associated workbench or Rustbolt Armories. |
Armed for Action
For this achievement, you will need to complete the Toys for Destruction daily quest five times. Daily quests are completely random so it won’t be available every day. The quest is given by Rocket-Chief Fuselage, located in the west crafting section of Rustbolt.
To complete the Toys for Destruction quest, speak to Fuselage to pick it up and then click on him again to let him know you’re ready to begin. You can now basically ignore whatever he says. Behind him are four piles of ingredients. You need to click the ingredients in the specific order that the NPCs call out so I would suggest having speech bubbles turned on or following along in your chat bar. If you mess up, speak to Fuselage to begin again.
To boil it down even more:
If Greusel Grimecheek speaks, click on the Volatile Liquid.
If Barcinski Keenwatts speaks, click on the Batteries.
If Caskey Fusespark speaks, click on the Explosives.
If Mando Gearmash speaks, click on the Cogs and Springs.
When you’re done, make sure to grab the weapon off of the table so you can then complete the quest.
