The Solar Spirehawk drops from the World Boss Rukhmar in Spires of Arak in Draenor and it is on around a 0.03% drop rate. Unlike other World Boss mounts, such as the Reins of the Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent, this mount cannot be bonus rolled.

The boss spawns north-west of Axefall in an area inaccessible to those without flying, however even without flying once the boss is aggro’d he will drop down to the ground so you should have no trouble getting a tag.

Additional Tips

Useful addons for Solar Spirehawk
There are three I would recommend:
Rarity – Rarity is a good addon to have for any mount farms, it keeps tabs on how many tries you have on the mount.

Worldboss Timers – This is another really great addon as it is a timer for all of the world bosses in case you plan on killing Rukhmar on multiple characters on the same server

Saved Instances – This addon will keep track of which characters have completed raids, world bosses and various other things. Great for knowing which characters you can still attempt the worldboss with.

Misc
As Rukhmar is on a weekly lockout, defeating it on your alts also each week will give you more attempts at the mount each week.
