Guide
The Summer Wilderling mount is obtained from Wilderling Saddle which has a low drop chance from the Escaped Wilderling rare event in Korthia. The Escaped Wilderling can only be summoned by a member of the Night Fae covenant and the item can only be looted by a Night Fae as well. However, the mount can be ridden by any covenant. Additionally, the rare has a daily loot lockout.
How to unlock Korthia
To unlock Korthia, you must first complete chapter 2 of your chosen covenant campaign after your first meeting with Ve’nari and rescuing Baine Bloodhoof from Torghast. Then, you will have to do the second chapter of the 9.1 campaign which starts with Opening the Maw. Completing each of the chapter 2 quests will unlock features in Korthia. The 6th quest, Opening to Oribos, will unlock a portal to Korthia on the top floor of Oribos so you will have an easy way to get back in the future.
To activate the Escaped Wilderling event, first make sure you’re part of the Night Fae covenant. Next, head to the location shown below.
This rare is different in that you do not actually kill anything. Once you get to the area, you will spot an Alluring Drum that is interactable. If it’s not then someone has done the event recently and you will have to wait roughly 15 minutes for it to be available again.
Click on the Drum to activate the event. You do not need to complete the channel- the mob seems to spawn anyway. You will have to fight the Escaped Wilderling until it is low health. When it’s low, you will be able to ride it and must complete a taming minigame.
Once you’re on the Wilderling, you will need to press your first action button every time you see the words Escaped Wilderling gets a burst of speed. Hold on tight! on your screen. Press it as soon as you see the words. Don’t press the button until the words show up again. Based on how accurate you are with your presses, you will get taming percentage. Doing many quickly and in a row will tame the beast faster.
Once the bar is full, the ride will be over and the Wilderling will place you on the ground. This is when the Talon-Pierced Mawsworn Lockbox will be added to your inventory. Additionally, you have a chance of the Wilderling Saddle being added to your inventory as well– it is not looted from the Lockbox but directly from the encounter itsself. If you happen to get the Wilderling Saddle, turn it in to Reldorn at Keeper’s Respite to acquire this mount!
