Guide
The Winter Wilderling mount can be purchased after reaching exalted reputation with the Death’s Advance faction as well as completing the On The Offensive achievement. It is purchased from Duchess Mynx for 1000 Stygia at Keeper’s Respite in Korthia.
How to unlock Korthia
To unlock Korthia, you must first complete chapter 2 of your chosen covenant campaign after your first meeting with Ve’nari and rescuing Baine Bloodhoof from Torghast. Then, you will have to do the second chapter of the 9.1 campaign which starts with Opening the Maw. Completing each of the chapter 2 quests will unlock features in Korthia. The 6th quest, Opening to Oribos, will unlock a portal to Korthia on the top floor of Oribos so you will have an easy way to get back in the future.
How to gain reputation with Death’s Advance
I would recommend starting this as early as possible because it takes a long time to complete. This is because there are only a few ways to earn reputation with this faction and most are weekly. You can gain reputation with Death’s Advance by:
- Completing Daily Quests in Korthia
- Completing the Korthia weekly quest Shaping Fate
- Covenant Assaults in the Maw (these change twice a week)
- Tormentors of Torghast event in the Maw (first gets extra rep via Tormentor’s Cache)
- Containing the Helsworn, the weekly World Quest in the Desmotaeron section of the Maw
- Killing Mor’geth, Tormentor of the Damned weekly (world boss in Desmotaeron)
- Mobs in Desmotaeron have a chance to drop Helsworn Battle Plans which can be turned in weekly for rep
- Rare mobs from the Rift dimension in Korthia have a chance to drop Stolen Korthian Supplies which can be turned in weekly for rep (The Rift can be accessed via Repaired Riftkeys bought from the Archivist Codex’s faction at Tier 4. Riftkeys also have a small drop chance from rares/treasures in Korthia.)
- Killing bosses and certain trash mobs in the Sanctum of Domination raid (as of 10.1.5, you can solo queue LFR to do this by yourself. Look for NPC named Ta’elfar in the Enclave section of Oribos.)
You can also purchase Contract: Death’s Advance from the auction house to gain rep with this faction every time you do a World Quest in the Shadowlands.
Since the reputation is so limited, I would advise taking advantage of reputation buffs if you can!
The Darkmoon Faire is in town starting on the first Sunday of every month. You can buy a ride ticket to ride the rollercoaster or carousel which gives the WHEE! buff that increases your reputation (and experience) gains by 10% for 60 minutes. You can also buy the Darkmoon Top Hat for 10 Darkmoon Prize Tickets to be able to apply this buff without having to go to the Faire.
There are also yearly events that give reputation buffs such as Hallow’s End buffs Grim Visage (Horde) and Unburdened (Alliance) in October. In November, there is WoW’s Anniversary buff called Celebration Package and Pilgrim’s Bounty buff called The Spirit of Sharing.
How to complete the On The Offensive achievement
This achievement requires you to get 4 out of the 9 possible sub-achievements related to the covenant assaults in the Maw. Covenant assaults rotate twice a week. The order is Kyrian > Venthyr > Night Fae > Necrolord and then back to Kyrian. The assaults are fairly simple to do — you head to the area, talk to the leader, do the four quests you are given, and then complete a small scenario.
You’ll want to start this achievement as early as you can as well because some of the sub-achievements can take weeks to complete. The sub-achievements you do will completely depend on when you decide to do your rotation and what quests are up. You can actually check if any of these quests are up by looking at Wowhead’s front page under the Shadowlands section.
If you do not have the ability to mount in the Maw, the Necrolord, Night Fae and Venthyr covenants offer a free transportation service that will quickly take you right to their assault area. Simply jump into the Maw as usual and head to the right. The Kyrian do not offer this service since they’re assaulting the area right by Venari’s Refuge.
Now, on to each of the sub-achievements. Remember, you only need to get four of these in total!
United Front
This is by far the easiest of the achievements. You must complete all four of the covenant assaults. This should take two weeks as they follow a strict order in which they spawn without repeating.
Jailer’s Personal Stash
To get this achievement, you will need to find ten Hidden Rift Caches during the Night Fae assault. This does not require a specific quest. You will have to be Tier 4 with the Archivists’ Codex to be able to buy Rift Portal Keys to enter the Rift and find these chests.
To start, get into the Rift via Korthia portals and then head to the Maw. When the “Night Fae Assault” pops up, use Cypher of Relocation to get to Ve’nari so you will continue to be in The Rift. In Shadowlands, only six of the caches were up per day but this may have changed in Dragonflight.

This Army
This achievement requires the Necrolord assault to be up as well as the quest You and What Army. You have to complete that quest with each of the possible champions. This normally would take 5 weeks but there is currently a way to cheese it. You pick up the quest, select a champion, complete one of the OTHER quests you’ve been given during the assault and turn that quest in. It should give you progress toward this achievement. You can select a new champion and do this again for a total of three times. If you want to minmax, you can even get a fourth time by waiting until the next day when the champions rotate and finally turning in your last quest.
Up For Grabs
You will need the Necrolord assault to be up for this achievement. Once you pick up the main quests, you should be able to start seeing the Mawsworn Caches. These are in various locations around Perdition Hold, usually up high on walls or towers. You can get to these locations in various ways like using grapple points after buying the Animated Levitating Chain from Ve’nari. Another option is using the Overcharged Centurion after completing the quest Putting A Plan Together. You could also use Darkmoon Cannon or Borr-Geth’s Fiery Brimstone but make sure to have a Goblin Glider Kit on hand if you don’t have wings! Also, you might only be able to loot six of these per day but I am not quite sure.

The Zovaal Shuffle
This requires the Kyrian assault to be up with the quest The Ember Count. You pick up this quest, grab a parasol from Gubbins and then need to /dance emote for several seconds near five different forges. Make sure to have Mawproof Parasol buff active or it won’t count! You can also track this achievement to make sure it’s been counting.

Hoarder of Torghast
This achievement requires the Venthyr assault to be up with the quest Fangcrack’s Fanclub. Go over to Fangcrack and wait by the Torghast portal he’s pulling things out of. Sometimes, he will pull out an anima cell which you can use to gain progress. You can also trade with the broker he pulls out for progress on this achievement or even destroy the phylacteries. Killing enemies does not count for the achievement.
A Sly Fox
You will need the Kyrian assault to be up for this. You must speak to Orator Kloe at the coords 42.2 44.6 to gain the Sharp Eyed buff and a companion to track Sly’s footprints. Follow the footprints and you will eventually find him. You MUST follow the footprints or Sly will not be there. You may need to complete some of the assault quests to be able to see him as well. This achievement will take 3 Kyrian covenant assaults to complete but at the end, you get to keep Sly!
Tea for the Troubled
This achievement requires the Venthyr assault to be up as well as the quest A Tea for Every Occasion. After you pick up the quest, go to Tubbins which will allow you to control a dredger vehicle. You must Serve Tea on 8 different NPCs. 4 of them will spawn per day so DO NOT complete this quest if you want to possibly get more done after the daily reset.

Krrprripripkraak’s Heroes
Lastly, you will need the Night Fae assault up for this achievement. The quest Just Don’t Ask Me To Spell It must also be up. Pick up the quest but do not finish the quest objectives until you complete this achievement or you will be dismounted. Next, you will need to help the following NPCs with the Slanknen’s Salty Soak and Awool’s Rejuvenating Winds abilities. That’s it!

Once you’ve hit exalted and completed four out of the nine On The Offensive sub-achievements, you can now purchase your Battle-Hardened Aquilon mount! If you swap covenants, you will also be able to purchase the Necrolord’s mount Battlefield Swarmer, Venthyr’s mount Pale Gravewing and Kyrian’s mount Battle-Hardened Aquilon.
